Youth band Concert
Well, it is finally here. The first concert of the season is this Saturday night. It’s such a long drought from last may until now while this band does not perform. We have been together since mid november and everything seems to be going well. Both bands are playing well working on challenging programs.
It is a real treat to be hosting my friend James Jackson, principal Euphonium with the US Coast Guard Band in New London, CT. I have known James for around 20 years and I hold him in high regard. James has been an inspiration to me over the years as well as a teacher friend. He is one if the many people I went to college with that have found great success after college. James is a first rate euphonium player and teacher as well as a conductor and supporter of youth music activities.
We have put together a great program and British and American music a well as featuring mr. Jackson. The concert is Saturday February 4th at 8:00 pm in the meymandi concert hall in raleigh. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7.50 for students. There will be plenty available at the door.
