Carolina Gold Camp

Posted on

This past weekend was my first camp with the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps.  I am the Brass Caption Head and overseeing the Brass Program.  It was a very busy weekend and a lot of work was done.  The members, about 32 in all, worked so incredibly hard.  It was quite impressive to see.  We did a lot of fundamental training this weekend and worked on the opener to the field show.  The horn line did a lot of visual training as well.

While change is sometimes tough, I think my team was well received.  We have a long way to go, and we are far from there, but I think we do have a good group to work with and have the potential to build and grow a lot throughout the season.  Having Charlie Fisher on board is a blessing.  He is so good at what he does.  Together, we will be able to really build this line and take it to the next level.  We have some members that have to learn to play on Bb horns, which is new for the corps this year, and a wide range of ages and abilities.  It will be a nice challenge to turn it all into one ensemble sound.

So, we are off the ground and rolling.  We have some Mellophone, Baritone and Trumpet spots we can fill if you are interested.  Contact me if you are interested.
