One Week To Go

Posted on

The Youth Band is one week, essentially, from our first concert of this season.. FINALLY.  I am really excited about this one for several reasons.  One, and most important, there is a great energy and vibe with this years band, and it is playing very well.  We are playing some really cool and difficult music.  I usually play a lot of transcriptions, but this concert only has one, Circus Bee.  All of the other tunes are original for brass band.  I can’t recall a program I have done like this, if ever.  Not to mention our guest soloist and clinician, Terry Everson, who is one of my mentors and  someone I have great respect and admiration for.  Anyone that comes in contact with him is better for it.  We are having this concert recorded for a DVD, which we have not done before.

There are so many good things happening around the Triangle Brass organization right now.  We are doing involved in a drive to raise money to purchase new instruments for the youth band, and we can now accept visa and master card at the door for ticket purchases (as well as online through paypal for donations).  The Tour in April will be a really cool one, and the adult band has some really cool performances coming up.  It is going to be a busy few months, but lots of stuff to enjoy.

Here is an excerpt of Irish Blessing, that you should try to imagine what it will sound like in a really nice concert hall.  It will be pretty sweet.
