Band madness
Last night I was out adjudicating high school bands at a pre-festival concert. I listened to five bands and worked with one for a half hour. I liked the music that was selected to perform. It is rather early in the preparation but it’s good to set goals and challenges to push the kids. Festival is so far away and the kids will get way to bored working on the same music for so long.
I will be visiting some other bands in the future. I have been working on my conducting and I want to get better at standing in front of bands. I admit that I am scared of the criticism that goes to conductors. I need to get better to avoid it.
