Holiday Pops- TBB
The weekend was a typical December weekend. Very busy. Saturday morning there was a rehearsal with the North Carolina Master Chorale. They were doing a holiday concert, including the Rutter Gloria. I was hired to play two of these this past weekend. It was all Choir and brass ensemble for the concert. After the rehearsal I took care of brassmaas details and copying music, then watched the Cats beat up on Indiana. Then it was off to the NCMC concert. The concert went well.
Sunday morning was early, and yet again, Rutter Gloria was the music. I went straight from that to Meymandi to get ready for Brassmas. Everything went smoothly as we hosted 85 brass players in a collection of holiday songs. We rehearsed i the afternoon, and a brass quintet that I threw together at the last minuute played for the participants. These guys were great to help out with this, so thanks to Jon, Jonathan, Sean and David. The Triangle Brass band gave its holiday pops concert Sunday evening, and it went very well. The band sounded very good on the stage at Meymandi, and it was a nice event all around.
Monday morning was a quick rehearsal for the NCSU graduation I have for Wednesday morning. It is still busy, and will remain that way for at least another week. A break is needed.
